Ted Baker’s Strapless Silk Dress

Monday, September 1st, 2008

ted-baker-rea.jpgNormally when a girl is looking for a floaty, feminine and gorgeous dress for an occasion she would head to Ted Baker, especially for weddings and cocktail parties.

Here’s why … This stunning white strapless silk dress is beautiful, ideal for any event and even though its white is still ideal for the icy Christmas party look (angel anyone?). With a large wool bow the dress is topped off with the seasons must have detailing. The dress falls above the knee and is 100% silk. White is a colour that will match almost anything but if you purchase it for the party season I’d go silver sandals and matching clutch.

The Ted Baker strapless silk dress is available at Ted Baker online and is priced at £150.

Jonathon Saunders Ellesmere Gown

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Jonathon Saunders Ellesmere GownI’ve just enjoyed a lovely evening in front of the TV and received my daily fashion fix in the form of Gok Wan! I love the show and watch every week, my only criticism is that they let him win every time. Sometimes the designer styles are just so pristine and irresistible that they deserve to win for the sheer class they exude.

Tonight is a perfect example, we saw an amazing red Sari Gueron dress, black feathered Temperley dress and this stunning Jonathan Saunders Ellesmere gown (pictured left). This black and white creation was by far my favourite piece of the evening; elegant, chic and so classy, the designer side deserved to win for this dress alone in my opinion.

I’ve just been over to Net-a-porter and it is currently available for £1420, partner with a simple black clutch and some patent black peep-toes, Louboutins if possible!

Ripple Cuff Platform SandalsAlthough I loved the designer side, the high street dresses were also fabulous and Gok managed to put some stunning outfits together. If I had to pick one I’d have to choose the blue maxi dress from H&M with the wide Warehouse belt and Topshop sandals, the colour of the dress was beautiful and looked so much better after the alterations.

I also loved the Ripple Cuff Platform Sandals from Topshop that were partnered with the H&M dress. They’re rather unique and a must have if you dress to impress and want to keep up with the trends. They cost £65 and are available in navy blue or lilac.

The Special Occasion Dress

Coast Klimt Tulle DressIts no surprise that Coast have some of the most fabulous evening dresses available so why not invest in one this year for those Christmas balls or New Years Eve celebrations.

There are some gorgeous garments; this dress caught my eye in particular. The Klimt Tulle dress, is stunning, flattering and one of those dresses that come with praise and envy, think about the ‘oh wow, I love your dress’ comments you’ll be thrown. The dress is £175 and so worth every penny.

Pageant Duchess Satin DressOr perhaps you would prefer something a little simpler but just as elegant like the Pageant Duchess Satin dress, also flattering and costing a slightly smaller £135.

Midnight Blues & Plums

Monday, October 29th, 2007

This season has definitely produced more than a few garments in midnight blue and plum, colours that are slimming, sexy and complimenting. Made out of silk or satin they have a temptress vibe and look fabulous with smoky eyes. And it seems Warehouse is stocking some of this season must haves!

Warehouse Dresses

This Plum Victoriana dress is sultry, sexy, costs £65 and is 100% silk. This Midnight Blue Deco Emblem dress is just as chic costing £75 and is also 100% silk. Or perhaps opt for this stunning Plum Cornelli Bust Prom dress at a splurge of £90. Either of these beautiful dresses will work those Christmas or New Year parties!

Visit www.warehouse.co.uk to see this season’s collection.

Gina’s Sky High Heels

Monday, October 8th, 2007

The designer label Gina has always produced the most delicate, glitzy and glamorous sandals and this fall is no exception. The sky high collection is very in season and it appears that over time heels are getting higher and higher.

Gina Spice Sandals

I love Spice (above), the Swarovski indented ‘jet’ diamante and black patent sandals. They are stunning and are priced at £415.00 or take Rox, the gold, Swarovski ‘golden’ diamante encrusted, signature style sandals priced at £435.00 (below).

Gina Rox Sandals

Or perhaps you would prefer these Campari shoes below, another signature style sandal, with “hand woven” Swarovski ‘Crystal’ diamantes in silver priced at £425.00.

Laura Ashley's 15% Off

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Laura Ashley Satin DressRecently I have discovered just how cute and chic Laura Ashley’s clothing and home furnishings are so imagine my excitement when I realised there is a 15% discount on selected fashion items.

I am a huge floral fan and Laura Ashley’s signature style is floral patterned delights but a different styled dress has caught my eye. Ideal for cocktail parties and weddings, this little number will certainly melt a crowd.

This adorably elegant blue satin seamed dress. The dress is a silk blend fabric which is nipped in just the right places. Now I know summer is over but aren’t we allowed to be a little nostalgic? The dress is available on the Laura Ashley website and costs just £68.00. Perfect!

Wallis Flower Prom Dress

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

Flower Prom DressI’ve just been searching through the Wallis-Fashion website and came across this dress, which really caught my eye. I would wear this to a fancy dinner party or even a day at the races. I know ladies day at Ascot has been and gone but you can never be prepared too early. It is described as a black/ivory flower prom dress, available on the Wallis website and costs £50.

With its bold detail and flattering flower belt, it would suit just about anyone. You could wear this with a pair of black strappy sandals, for a more elegant look and a sparkly set of earrings and matching bracelet, just to finish it off. On the website there is an accessories option available so your bound to find something to match. If you’re a costume jewellery girl like me then maybe Claire’s Accessories would be a better option.

Royal Ascot Ideas at Next

Monday, June 18th, 2007

As I’m sure most of you are aware, this week is Royal Ascot Week – a chance to dress to impress, sip champagne and maybe even do a spot of gambling! I am attending the races on Friday but still haven’t found an outfit so I am shopping while I blog! I found some gorgeous occasion wear on the Next website, dresses, hats, hair accessories, jewellery, shoes, bags – they have everything and it’s so reasonably priced as well.

Next Ascot IdeasMy personal favourites are the two stunning dresses above. I would love to wear the cream dress with gold satin band (£70) but me and white don’t really go especially if it’s raining. The pink mesh bustier dress (£55) is more my style, it’s just as stunning and gives the bust area a bit of a lift. The colour is also more appropriate if it rains. Check out the Next website for more Royal Ascot ideas.
