This weekend I finally bit the bullet and attempted a wardrobe clear out. As usual, I struggled to part with more than 3 items, but I did uncover some gems I’d completely forgotten about, including a great skirt from boutique label Looking Glass that I picked up last year.
Established in 2005, Looking Glass is vintage inspired, heavily influenced by the glamour of the 1940s and the magic and mystery of the story of Alice in Wonderland. Still a relatively small label, Looking Glass as yet don’t have their own stores, but are stocked by over 80 boutiques nationwide, check their website for the one nearest you.
You can also some of the Looking Glass range online at Oli. This Pencil Skirt is reminiscent of Chanel with it’s tweed effect and pleated hem. It’s high-waisted, flattering shape that sits just above the knee gives a great twist on this classic wardrobe staple.
It’s available now for £65, and there’s also a cute cropped tweed jacket to complete the look.

In the spirit of this season’s fashion I go all gingham and my craze continues on with this Luella Caroline full skirt.
Stylish and shapely this full skirt is ideal for the slim girl wanting curves or the curvy girl boasting her tiny waist. With a fabulously bright burnt orange colour the skirt will also stand out in the crowd. Why pick such a confident colour? Because it’s unique and it would look gorgeous with a black top, black tights and some killer stilettos as shown here. Suitable for either work or play.
Buy it now at net-a-porter online now costing just £225.

To me this whole outfit is gorgeous; I love the cute vest tucked into the checked skirt, and teamed with bright tights and shoe boots I think this cleverly turns a Summer look into an Autumn one whilst staying on trend and quirky. The skirt has a flattering hour-glass tulip shape and teamed with low fronted shoes boots, gives a very leggy look.
I think this a great transitional outfit as we drift from Summer to Autumn – teaming Summer vests and thin skirts with bright tights and shoe boots is a great way of getting the most out of your summer wardrobe whilst incorporating some of your new and exciting A/W purchases.
Throw a short cropped jacket over the top to finish the look off. Both the vest and skirt are by Arrogant Cat and are available at £29 and £99 respectively, from ASOS.

The fashion website Oli has just had a revamp and is back and better than ever. They’ve ditched their men’s and children’s sections and are now exclusively for women only. As well as fashion, they’ve also got a home and textile section and technology. There’s also loads of great stylists on board with advice to help you dress for your shape.
This week they’re talking prints, including this Lipsy Graphic Floral Skirt that’s perfect for petite ladies. It’s short length will elongate legs, and the print design is eye catching and unique. Team it with a plain black, white or yellow vest tucked in or a cardigan in order to keep it simple and not swamp a smaller frame with too many prints.
Get it now from Oli for £40.

I love this black leather high-waisted skirt from H&M and at only £7.99 is a cheap piece you can snap up and what’s more, it is an item that will work for so many looks next season.
Team with a floaty check shirt as H&M have done here and add opaques and sky scraper heals, or incorporate into a more punk or gothic-chic look for something more edgy.
Lace, fringing and frills will all be very popular next season but be careful not to overdo it when mixing together with leather – it is best to use something like this as your statement piece and work more subtle items into the outfit in matt materials.

Now that the sales are beginning to wane and next season’s stock is starting to creep ever more quickly into the shops I am filled with excitement at the prospect of planning my Autumn/Winter staple wardrobe items.
At the top of my list has to be a good smattering of pencil skirts… They make you walk taller, feel elegant and start any working-week-look off to a great start.
This season I would like to add a little flamboyance to my regular office looks and whilst floating around Net-a-porter earlier today I couldn’t help but notice this fan pleat skirt by Phillip Lim for £265. It has the essence of a pencil skirt but with added attitude and sensuous femininity rolled together in one. Combine with a floaty blouse and killer heals and this is one look that will take you from daywear to eveningwear seamlessly.

Similar to the bell skirt I am also adoring the bubble hem. They are both a flattering fit and look oh so chic with a blouse and courts.
This Pringle 1815 Bubble hem skirt is made out of wool, has a large waist band, front patched pockets, ruched detailing and is designed by Pringle 1815. Although this skirt can ooze sophistication matched with the right blouse and courts it can also form part of a punky look matched with a rocky tee and some fish nets. The colour black can contrast with most other colours leaving you free to wear it as many times as you wish without looking the same.
Get yours at Net a Porter priced at just £150.

This season I have to express my desire for Oscar de la Renta’s collection. A wonderful mix of florals and tweed, the pre-fall collection is a wonderful taster of what is to follow later in the season.
This Oscar de la Renta Tweed bell skirt has a high waist line, a complimenting bell shape and has a reinforced stitched hem. Perfect for the autum weather and style, wear with tights and a smart and chic blouse.
A must-have item for work and play get your Oscar de la Renta skirt at Net-a-Porter costing £720.

Fashion forward, Net-A-Porter has caught on to the trend of full skirts and I love it!
Full skirts remind me of the fifties and are so summery. With a tight waist band the full skirt is flattering and breezy perfect for the hot weather we hope to indulge in this year. If the UK lets us down, we can always head abroad to don the summer seasons key pieces. This Oscar De La Renta Full Twist Skirt is exactly what I’m talking about. The blue cotton twill skirt has appliqué disc detailing, a removable petticoat and is as flattering as you like. Pair this skirt with a top similar to the one pictured here and you are good to go.
This Oscar de la Renta Full cotton twill skirt is quite pricey at £1,900 but if you can afford it, what are you waiting for. Get your at Net-A-Porter now or wait and anticipate the selection that’s sure to hit the high street soon.

This skirt is just sooo adorable! Topshop have got it so right again with this cute tiered mini skirt; it is just what we need to break us out of those drab winter clothes and into the fresh new spring collections. If you haven’t already noticed by now floral is really going to take over this summer! With Stella Mc Cartney and Balenciaga being the drive for inspiration with their unforgettable floral prints dominating the catwalks, it is of no surprise!
This skirt is truly fab! It will look great with some thick woolly tights or leggings for the winter, then when the sun finally comes out you can ditch the tights and get some air to those legs! For £30.00 you will be silly to miss out on this bargain!
