The perfect summer dress can be an elusive thing. You want one that makes a statement, but can be worn year after year, one that’s slightly weather proof (or at least won’t blow up in the wind and won’t go streaky when it rains) and of course, it has to be white.

Carrie on Sex and the City was doing it way before the rest of the world, but it seems the tutu is finally making it onto the high street. After the recent trend for ra-ra, tulip and bell shaped skirts, designers have taken the next step and gone for the tutu.

Perfect for summer, this is a great alternative to the maxi for a statement dress, and the high street has given it a grungey, rock chick edge, so you won’t look too much like a ballerina.

Prom season is arriving and that beautiful dress should be at the top of your shopping list. Why? Because every girl wants to shine at their prom. The average prom would be held to celebrate the end of school or college however its not just the prom attendees who are in need of the perfect dress. On my recent search I came across a beauty by Betty Jackson. This dusky pink strapless taffeta dress with rosette detailing could not be more appropriate and in season.
