Another Amazing Sweater

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

philosophy-di-alberta-ferretti-sweater.jpgThis time I fall in love with another sweater and it just happens to be by Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti.

Again so blown away by the amazing designs for a fraction of the cost, this Philosophy Di Alberta Ferretti Geometric patterm sweateris just £240. The roll-neck, multicolored, long sleeve sweater presents a stylish and quirky look which would make lovely with some skinny jeans and flat ballet pumps or over the jean equestrian knee highs. The large frill contributes to the femininity.

Get this gorgeous geometric sweater from net-a-porter.

Cozy In Cashmere

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

stella-mccartney-wool-sweater.jpgAs I said before I know it’s still summer but I adore the winter warmers that are surfacing right now and that includes this cozy cashmere addition by Stella McCartney.

The oversized sweater makes me dream about being warm and cozy with a cup of coco in front of a blazing fire in a log cabin after an exciting day on the slopes. I guess I’ll keep my fantasy of skiing in my imagination for the moment but this sweater is up for serious consideration. The multi–colored wool cashmere sweater looks comfy, has full sleeves and would look great with slim fit jeans to balance the over sized top. Perhaps combine the Ugg boot for total comfort or with a stylish boot for sophistication.

Buy it now at net-a-porter costing £795.

Reversible Jumper

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

elgarcowlneckjumperWant a nice new snugly jumper to throw on as the weather begins to turn more chilly? Then you may want to invest in this dreamy offering from All Saints – a slouchy knit top which as an added bonus happens to be totally reversible!

You can wear it front-to-back (as opposed to inside out) and the back has pretty little gold popper buttons from top to bottom, which can be worn at the front or at the back, and give this top a totally new look and feel when reversed. At £75 it’s a bit of an investment piece for a daywear top but with two completely very different looks I don’t think you can go wrong.

Team with dark tone skinny jeans, killer heals and, due to the slash-neck design, a skinny scarf to keep you cosy.

Throw-on Vests

Monday, August 18th, 2008

Sass & Bide Fine Knit Tank VestI often find it a challenge to find interesting throw-on vests for a relaxed weekend-jeans-look which are funky without looking too young. I think Sass & Bide get it right time and time again and have all the right ingredients with this tank style vest.

The design is fun but the real excitement for me is the fabric, which unlike most vests, is not made from cotton but is actually fine knitwear made from bamboo. Up close it looks like a really fine, soft luxury knitted material which begs to be touched. Next season it’s all about texture, so this could easily translate into many on-trend layered looks as well as serve as a great informal throw-on top which you could tuck into jeans for a bit of edge or wear all wear hanging out for a chilled-out vibe.

Get yours from ASOS for £175.

Designer Winter Woollies

Monday, December 10th, 2007

See by Chloe Chunky knit scarfI love the added accessory of a scarf and at this time of year it seems like a good investment. Why not splurge on a designer scarf, they don’t really go out of fashion, they fulfil their purpose and are pretty difficult to ruin.

I love this See by Chloé Chunky knit scarf. The cream wool and mohair blended scarf is stylish, warm and costs £140. Burberry also has a cosy looking scarf, called the Marble knit, its grey, very chunky and costs £195. Also Johnstons stock a lovely, warm scarf, its cashmere, ribbed, comes in cream, black and grey and is a little less pricey at £95.

Ted Baker’s Woolly Wonders

Monday, December 10th, 2007

Ted Baker DressYes the trend of the little black dress is not going anywhere and I am amazed to see just how many different styles of dresses can come in such a colour.

Ted Baker certainly had it covered with the two wool black dresses available online. Eisuke is a gorgeous, figure flattering, wool pencil dress (pictured). It’s conservative and smart for day wear, dressed down with tights and flats or evening wear, dressed up with some killer heels and bare legs and it costs £120.

Advent is just as stylish, the also pencil shape, wool black dress, is elegant and can again be worn either day or night and would be more suited to someone who preferred a little sleeve detail, costing £130.

Both dresses are available at www.tedbaker.com.
