Markus Lupfer is a bit hit amongst quirky rock chicks like Daisy Lowe and Gwen Stephanie for his glamorous but grungey jumper designs.
The £200 + price tag is a bit of a steep one for a jumper, but luckily Markus Lupfer has just launched an exclusive line for Topshop, featuring five new designs on his signature black and grey jumpers.
For a subtle, classic look there’s a black jumper featuring a silver sequined bow, which costs £85. Or for a real statement piece, try the parrot motif, featuring bright reds and blues.
The over-sized shape of the jumpers means they’re perfect for wearing with leggings or skinny jeans, or wear them over a body con dress for a grungey, layered look. Each design costs £85 and is available online now.

Always a fan of ASOS, I love it when their weekly newsletter appears in my inbox, usually with at least one piece I want immediately.
This week, at the top of my wish list is this military style cardigan. The half length sleeves are perfect for the warmer weather ahead and the cropped length and nipped in style make a nice change form the more bulky type cardies around.
Team with skinnies and sky high heels for and easy chic feel, and when it comes to accessorising, oversized earrings would be too much, beads would interfere, but a stack of chunky bangles would balance out the shorter length sleeves and keep the accessory as far from the interest on the cardy as possible making it work.
You can pick one for £29.50.

I love the new print trend and this top is no exception. Following the key rules of carrying off this trend; it features a solid block colour with an accent of print making it a really easy piece to wear.
Simply throw on with super skinny stone wash jeans and killer heals for effortless chic and a great relaxed Sunday look.
The cape style sleeves give this basic sweat a stylish feel and the price isn’t bad either. At £25 from Topshop it’s an affordable way to buy into the trend.
What’s more, from what I’ve seen so far this trend seems to be applied mainly to shift dresses more so than sports type wear, and I would get more wears-per-buy from a sweat top like this than a smart shift. I’m sold!

I have two tactics when it comes to the sales, my first is to pick up classic items that I can wear anytime no matter what the fashion (such as a cashmere sweater, the perfect fitting crisp white shirt, any fabulous shoes etc).
This can prove very rewarding – the feeling of joy when you can add something totally perfect looking, functional and half price will never loose its allure!
My functional pick is this cashmere batwing sweater by Alexander McQueen. A classic that you could wear forever, this one can be picked up from Net-a-porter for £305.40 (down from £509).
However, my second, more frivolous approach is to snap up those items that you may never actually wear but will look great in your clothes collection and might one day be just the perfect thing you need.
Such items include say a vintage Victoria lace slip… too beautiful and ancient to wear, but having the opportunity you cast your eyes over it day after day makes it every bit as worthwhile as say finding the perfect ‘interview shirt’.
My potential frivolous purchase this season might just be this ostrich feather bolero (from humble old Topshop surprisingly!). Right now I have no where to wear it, no dress to match it, but one day I may discover the perfect glittering 20’s style flapper dress and it will be the perfect adornment.
If not, I shall forever gaze at it adoringly hanging in my closet and never regret a penny spent. And I certainly wouldn’t in this case as it’s marked down from £85 to just £40!
If you have any sales tactics you swear by, please feel free to share!

January is a bit of a tough month for fashion. Still dealing with the Christmas/New Year binge on dresses and all things sparkly, and with Spring/Summer collections just around the corner, new clothes seem like a bit of an extravagance. But with our January £50 challenge you can chase away those January blues and still be in pocket!
This month we’ve produced the antidote to squeezing yourself into those LBDs over Christmas – a casual weekend look.
First up, some classic Wide Leg Black trousers with a Bow Detail. They’ll hide all multitude of Christmas sins, and are a comfy but stylish alternative to jeans. They cost just £15 from ASOS now (sale ends Sunday), and as you can see from the picture, look great with spiky heels.
And here are the perfect spiky heels! For just £15 you can get these Royal Layered Metallic Shoes from Topshop. Metallic look set to make a comeback next season, and these shoes are perfect for dressing up or down.
So that leaves £20 for a top, and Warehouse have this cute Purple Bow Cardi in their sale. The over-sized buttons and bow detail make this way more interesting then a plain black jumper or cardi, and the tight fit will complement the wide leg trousers.
£50 well spent on an outfit to help you ease through January feeling well dressed but not over spent!

The only thing worth pulling out the wardrobe at the moment has to be knitwear – if it’s not designed to keep you warm you don’t need it! If you’re a bit short on such practical garments though, now is definitely the time to stock up on some.
This Pointelle Chunky Wrap Cardi from Warehouse ticks all the boxes for a winter warmer. Long sleeves (it’s ridiculous how many jumpers have short sleeves!), a neutral colour that isn’t too dark, and something that can be worn under and over other clothes. The narrow cuffs on the sleeves and diamond detailing give it a fashion edge, and the belted waist will give a nice silhouette.
It’s comes in grey or black costing £40 and is available online or in Warehouse stores now.

This jumper is from the limited edition ‘Woody for Topshop’ range, by designer Zara Wood which features lots of lovely t-shirts and jumpers with a cute star gazing girl design on them.
This is perfect for throwing on round the house or popping out to the shops for forgotten Christmas treats. The grey colour means it’ll go with anything you fancy, and it’ll be baggy enough to wear over other layers. And it’s made of cotton, so no fluff on your favourite black skinnies!
The Woody Star Gazer Girl Sweater costs £30, which is fairly reasonable for a jumper, and it’s a great go to piece for the holidays.
Check out the rest of the range over at the Topshop website for some great pieces that’ll have you looking comfortable in style!

I love this new hologram belt sweater dress by Alexander McQueen. Like something straight out of Nico Riley’s wardrobe (Lipstick Jungle) it’s chic and elegant and some how carries off looking incredibly cosy yet in the same swing it looks utterly chic and professional.
Made 100% of cashmere and costing £896 this is an indulgence but one that will last a lifetime if cared for. The cowl neckline is a classic design statement and the belt can always be swapped for another to bring new life and an alternative look to the same piece over years.
Available from Net-a-porter all you need do is throw on an oversized cocktail ring and towering heels and the look is complete!

I love this exposed seam cardigan by Vera Wang – bang on trend this is a great piece to build a heritage chic type look as well as a great wardrobe staple suitable for work and play.
I particularly like the subtle detailing that has gone into this piece – the drop cuffs and exposed seams bring a bit of edge to a classic style yet the sludgy brown colour palette keep the heritage feel in place.
Wear over a low hem skirt for work or just team with weekend jeans for play, just be sure to keep it buttoned up for maximum impact.
100% wool this will keep out the chill and go over most outfits, it costs £582.34 and can be picked up from Net-a-porter.

I love discovering great every day jumpers which are perfect for throwing on this chilly time of year, and this batwing sweater from Urban Outfitters is just that.
Great for throwing over skinny jeans and a tee, just add heels and weekend hair for a laid back look.
I love this deep red colour, but it also comes in deep green and light grey which are all just as nice.
The rib knit sleeves are great for keeping warm and the slash neck style gives this jumper and elegant chic feel.
You can pick one up from Urban Outfitters for £35.
