Ice Necklace

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Karen Millen Large Ice NecklaceAs we all know it’s all about statement jewellery this season and for those of you opting for an understated dress for your Christmas party may wish to opt for a statement necklace to set it off.

I particularly like this cable chain ice necklace from Karen Millen. Featuring the cut gem stone look, made popular by Burberry at their A/W 08 catwalk show back in February, and a mirrored stone setting, this is bling kept stylish.

For £85 it’s an investment piece, but I think one that could be worn again and again. I particularly loved the way Burberry styled theirs; by wearing them at their longest over the top of their coats and scarves, bringing a fabulous twinkle to their outerwear.

Buckle Watch

Marc by Marc Jacobs Digital WatchOne item fighting for room on my Christmas list is this digital cuff watch from Marc by Marc Jacobs. Featuring a white leather cuff, imprinted logo on the side of the gold tone metal buckle this is such a simple design and in my opinion so much more stylish than a big ‘ole clock face.

What’s more it’s reasonably priced at just £140 – not too bad for such a great label!

If you want this Marc by Marc Jacobs Buckle digital watch too, head over to Net-a-porter today.

Designer v Highstreet: Tough Accessories

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Vera Wang Braided NecklaceThis season it is all about statement accessories and bringing a little edginess to your looks, and these tough looking items are great for the more edgier punk and grunge lux trends.

This bracelet by All Saints is a great buy and I think the £30.00 price tag isn’t bad for such a great brand. Use this accessory to toughen up your looks, team with your looks by layering over the top of fingerless gloves and the sleeves of chunky knit cardys.

The designer item on the other hand is by Vera Wang and has a cha-ching price tag of £1285.00. Use to toughen up a jewel cocktail dress or use to bring a bit of sparkles and luxury to a muted toned grunge based look. I love the pewter colour and braided detailing – get yours from Net-a-porter.

All Saints Jewellery!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

All Saints Ivy BraceletI don’t usually take much notice of All Saints jewellery but this time something caught my eye; The Ivy bracelet! This bracelet is perfectly in keeping with All saints urban style, the chain mail bracelet comes with a matching necklace, however the bracelet is what caught my eye! I love the dirty gold metal, it looks edgy and urban!

I think it would look stunning with a simple tank top, leaving a bare arm to display the beautiful bracelet. You can purchase the bracelet from All Saints online for just £30!

Isharya Filigree Collection

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Isharya Filigree collectionI am in love with this gold filigree collection by Isharya! Isharya is typically known for its ‘delicious mix of Bollywood glamour and cool Californian style.’ We can certainly see these influences amongst this beautiful collection. The intricate style makes the collection look and feel very precious! It is extremely feminine and would’ve been great for summer with my long maxi dresses, if only I had spotted them sooner!

The prices range from £75 to £195! Definitely worth splashing out on! To get a closer look, check out Isharya on Net-a-porter!

Autumn's answer to Floral!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Kara Ross Floral CuffPretty floral prints were all the rage for the summer but now we are heading towards autumn it seems florals are taking on a new form; jewellery.

Floral cuffs are set to be autumn’s arm candy, with the likes of Chloe and New York based accessories designer Kara Ross leading the look. These striking cuffs will bring any outfit to life, I particularly love the Floral Anaconda cuff by Kara Ross, the use of the anaconda snakeskin is exquisite and I’m sure will turn many heads! This cuff costs £270; there is also a matching ring and necklace for those that can’t get enough of the look.

The second cuff is the Chloe Poppy cuff, another beautiful piece of jewellery! This cuff also has a matching necklace for added wow factor! Buy yours today from net a porter for £350.

Statement Accessories: The Stacked Bangle

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

FCUK Square Resin BanglesAs we know statement jewellery is big this season and with a bit of clever buying you can pick up a look which you can adapt to several key trends and outfits. One look that is really hot right now is stacking oversized bangles together on one arm.

The key ingredients when shopping for this look are to go for muted colours (such as black, pewter, white, gold, silver), a bright accent and sharp geometric shapes. For only £15 you can pick up this set of bangles from French Connection. All you then need to do is pick a few extra Perspex bangles and one in a bright accent colour such as turquoise or violet for example – cheap haunts like Claires are bound to have something and you’ve got the look.

Wear with relaxed jeans and a tee, use to dress up your little black dress, or, whatever you happen to fancy. Just remember when wearing statement jewellery just keep it to one part of the body. get yours from ASOS today.

Mock Snakeskin Metallic Cuff

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

FCUK CuffThis snakeskin style cuff is a great buy from French Connection; it’s antique style and metallic look is on-trend and really tasteful. Quite often animal references can be a little garish but I think this design is really understated and beautiful.

The cuff is a popular accessory this season for the grunge lux look, especially if clustered along with several others on one arm. To create the look try teaming with an outfit focused on a dark colour palette and layering, think dark skinnies, dark vest, shoe boots etc, adding fingerless gloves for the ultimate bad-girl grunge look.

Get yours from French Connection for just £15!

Collar Necklace!

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Vice and Vanity Collar NecklaceWow this necklace is really unique! It’s definitely a statement necklace that will jazz up any outfit! Designed by ‘Vice and Vanity’ this necklace is very much on trend right now, you must have notice ruffles are literally everywhere this season and what a great and unique way to follow this trend!

I would wear this necklace with a simple T, for a chic and beautiful look. It comes in different colours, however I am drawn to this pink one and I love the two pearls that accent the necklace. Buy yours today from Talullahtu for £75.

Butterfly Jewellery

Friday, September 5th, 2008

alt='Butterly Jewellery' />First it was horses, then we saw a surge of birds and owls, and next season butterflies will be one of many insects taking centre stage. So when it comes to incorporating this trend into your wardrobe, it’s all about accessories, and with a little bit of hunting around you can find some very cheap options to get the look fast.

Out of my top 3 picks, the first on my list are these darling butterfly hairclips from ASOS for just £4. These do not need to be limited to just your hair – hair clips such as these can often with adhered to a loose cable knit cardy too and a cluster of these used to embellish a lapel will look very cute. I also adore this multi-butterfly necklace from Accessorize, which could dress up an outfit or just be thrown on among your daywear, for just £10 this is a real bargain.

Finally, my 3rd choice is this statement necklace by Juicy Couture for £185. I love the detailing and colour palette chosen, and it’s great for work or play; on dreary wet winter days let your necklace do the talking and simply team with a white blouse for the office, or a white graphic tee for play.
