If you love the current military and feminine trends for your outerwear then this is one coat that roles both trends into one and may be your kind of thing. This caped shoulder coat from ASOS is half military, half feminine, and somehow it pulls off both of these trends seamlessly.
The mini cape type shoulder detailing echo the super hero trend and has a military feel especially when viewed from the back. Yet, the layering and gathering around the panelled waist area also make the coat feel really feminine and girly.
The Peter Pan collar also add a playful feel to the overall look making this coat a real jumble of trends yet some how I think it works. You can pick yours up from ASOS for £70 and it is available in kahki and black.

I am a real fan of the oversized evening clutch; no more shall I fumble around for half an hour trying to whittle the contents of my evening bag from ten items down to just three!
This particular feathered version is I think, totally gorgeous and perfect for all forms of social gatherings – from drinks and dinner to the office Christmas party and for just £22 it’s a bargain too!
Inspired by Burberry’s A/W 08 catwalk and already labelled the ‘It’ buy from ASOS, this feathered clutch features a reinforced patent trim and twist lock fastening and is large enough to carry what you wish!

If you loved the dress Keira Knightley wore to The Edge of Love premiere you may be delighted to see ASOS have come up with a very pretty substitute to Keira’s designer frock by Erdem.
For just £55 you can pick up this very similar piece which features the almost the exact same shape with the addition of an asymmetric ruffled strap. This dress doesn’t have as much bounce and volume, so you may want to try teaming with a netting underskirt to mimic the same shape as the Erdem number.
For an ultra chic look I would keep shoes and accessories minimal and just stick to plain black and let the frock take centre stage.

With the heritage trend in full swing, a good pair of boots are a must-have if you are to dabble in this trend. This pair from ASOS are a great pick; their round toe shape echo back the days of old, yet coupled with a stiletto heel brings these up to date and bang on trend.
I loved the restrained simple stitch look lacing and the brown shade of beaten leather. For a fresh take on the trend I take inspiration from Esprit’s latest collections and would team with patterned tights, a pleated skirt and a fitted leather bomber.
Or you could go all out wartime-chic and team with a vintage patterned print dress, long cardy and pull together with a skinny belt. Leather gloves and fake mink stole optional.

So it’s November, a new month and a new £50 challenge! With the credit crunch not looking like letting up anytime soon, and the Christmas party season almost upon us, this month we’ve created a great party look on a budget.
The easiest way to keep your budget low is to opt for a dress, as it’s usually cheaper than buying a separate top and skirt or trousers. This metallic jacquard dress is from ASOS, and it comes with it’s own belt, so you don’t need to worry about buying one. The silver finish is perfect for any party, and the shift shape gives it a vintage, timeless feel. The design on the dress is quite busy, so we’ve added some simple patent courts, black tights, and a cute silver necklace.
Glamorous Square Neck Metallic Jacquard Dress - ASOS £30
3 Pair 60 Denier Tights - Marks and Spencer £3
Pointed Patent Court Shoes - Marks and Spencer £15
ASOS Fairy Pendant Necklace - ASOS £2
Total - £50
November challenge successful!

It’s not often that I find a pair of shoes that work perfectly for both work and play, but these jewel front peep toe shoes by Kurt Geiger are a great for just that.
Team with a satin cocktail dress for a night out or with a plain pencil skirt, pussy bow blouse and tight knit cardy with the sleeves pushed up for instant office chic.
Shoes are fast becoming a great way to hit several trends in one feel swoop (here we have 4 hits with satin, peep toes, cone shape heels and cut glass gems) and with the current economic climate I think shoes are one of the top items to invest in.

Dorothy Perkins have just launched their Christmas 2008 Collection, and if you’re looking do a mini update on your wardrobe for the party season, then they’ve got some great pieces that’ll leave you with money left over for Christmas presents.
This Blue One Shouldered Dress is a steal at only £45, and will definitely have you looking scrubbed up nicely any kind of party. The deep midnight blue colour ties in with this season’s jewel colours trend, and the corsage on the waist looks like it’s straight out of Sex and the City. The one shouldered look makes the dress stand out from all the sleeveless dresses around at the moment, and means it’s sophisticated enough to wear to a really formal event.
Team it with black tights, or if you’re feeling brave (and you’ll be inside!) bare legs. Silver is also a great colour to pair with midnight blue, so maybe opt for some shimmery silver eyeshadow and accessories. If you can get your hands on some midnight blue heels they would look great too.
If you fancy stepping out in this dress then snap it up quickly, as other pieces in the collection have already sold out.

These stitched slipper booties by Woolenstock look really snugly and are the perfect choice for keeping warm and toasty at home. We’ve all become so used to living in our Uggs that it’s sometimes hard to take them off when you get back indoors, so a quick change into these type of bootie slippers seems like a good idea to me.
The hanging pompoms, stitching and embellishments make these cute with a folk feel – so you can even be bang on trend nesting in front of your favourite tv show.
You can get your own pair from ASOS for £75.

I don’t know many girls without a penchant for all things Cath Kidson - we all seem to be a sucker for a cute floral print. So keep your toes dry with these pretty rose wellies this winter!
For years I went without wellies in my wardrobe and now I have a pair, I can’t imagine how I ever lived without. Even if they never see mud or experience festival life, they are an absolute must-have for those annoying supermarket dashes on rainy weekends where you want to avoid wet feet, sodden hems or risk damaging your Uggs. Hop into your wellies feet first and not only will you stay warm but you can also have a cheeky splash in a puddle or two as you go about your way.
This particular pair also come in a whiter fresher floral print as well as a cobalt blue print with white mini polka dots. Pick yours up from ASOS for £40.

The main feature and most expensive item in this outfit is the black Mea Fringe Dress, £20 from boohoo.com, in my opinion you cannot tell if it is a high street bargain, an AllSaints creation or even a Phillip Lim design, and lets face it, you can tell your friends its a Phillip Lim!! To go with the dress we have chosen this fabulous Patchwork Bag from Peacocks (just £8) to give a 60’s feel to the look, also some bright Mary Jane courts (also Peacocks) and a simple bangle from Miss Selfridges Diva collection.
