On the subject of fabulous festive shoes, I have to make mention of these super sultry red satin pumps from Charlotte Olympia. These 6 inch heels sit on a 1.5 inch platform and have all the drama in the world!
The height and pointed toe give them an unspoken attitude, yet the pleated ruffles adorning each heel provide a flirtatious and soft allure needed to keep these bad boys in check!
As net-a-porter quite rightly put it , you need to ‘dress from the feet upwards with these,’ so with all the focus landing at your feet go for something understated and sleek to match.
You can pick these up from Net-a-porter for £395.

Karen Millen has really pulled out all the stops with their eveningwear collection this season, and if you are looking for a fab frock and have a goodly sized budget (dresses are around the £180 mark), then it’s worth a good look. No dress however can get away without a fabulous pair of shoes, and these are a seriously fit for festive merriment!
I love the side on feather detailing and the all important black satin material. If budget is an issue I would be tempted to just throw on last years LBD and invest in these instead. At £120 they are a little steep, but if you buy them from ASOS this week you can get 20% off* and nab them for £96!
*The 20% discount applies to selected brand items so could get your Christmas party outfit sorted this week and pick up a bargain in the process!

I love this sequin cropped tux jacket from ASOS which unlike most other evening jackets on the high street, doesn’t swamp the frock underneath it. Leather and sequin bombers look great and long cocktail coats can be beautiful but few allow your dress to get a look in like this one will.
What’s more this jacket is so versatile, not only can you wear it over your party frock you can also use to dress up casual looks and give some sparkle to jeans and a tee – just be sure to don some killer heels too.
You can pick this jacket up for £45 from ASOS.

For the ultimate glitzy party frock check out this sequin embellished tiered mini dress from ASOS Luxe. Best viewed via their ‘Catwalk tool,’ the sequin stripe and ruffle tiers seriously shimmer and sparkle on the wearer. Perfect for New Years or Christmas Parties this is a really fun frock.
The dress features a bandeau design with a boned corset and full skirt. To keep the look streamlined, team with silver sparkly sequin shoes and a clutch. You can pick this up in black or a silvery grey colour with pearlescent sequins for £90 from ASOS.

I am not a huge fan of the 2 in 1 (where the skirt and top are joined together like a dress – check out H&M and Karen Millen for a good range). However, I may have to relent, just on the sheer beauty of the chiffon spot blouse attached to this one!
Sophisticated and flirty I absolutely love the halter style blouse part of this dress. A perfect transitional piece to take you from the office to the bar, worn with hair up and a cardy throughout the day just peel off and unravel the hair for instant glamour.
At just £38 from ASOS it’s a real steal, I‘d expect the blouse and skirt to cost that much alone! What’s more if this teal green shade isn’t your colour, it also comes in purple.

I am a real fan of the oversized evening clutch; no more shall I fumble around for half an hour trying to whittle the contents of my evening bag from ten items down to just three!
This particular feathered version is I think, totally gorgeous and perfect for all forms of social gatherings – from drinks and dinner to the office Christmas party and for just £22 it’s a bargain too!
Inspired by Burberry’s A/W 08 catwalk and already labelled the ‘It’ buy from ASOS, this feathered clutch features a reinforced patent trim and twist lock fastening and is large enough to carry what you wish!
Get yours from ASOS today!

If you loved the dress Keira Knightley wore to The Edge of Love premiere you may be delighted to see ASOS have come up with a very pretty substitute to Keira’s designer frock by Erdem.
For just £55 you can pick up this very similar piece which features the almost the exact same shape with the addition of an asymmetric ruffled strap. This dress doesn’t have as much bounce and volume, so you may want to try teaming with a netting underskirt to mimic the same shape as the Erdem number.
For an ultra chic look I would keep shoes and accessories minimal and just stick to plain black and let the frock take centre stage.

Another winning dress by Mint Jodi Arnold… I love this strapless silk gazar rose dress; the vivid grape colour is on trend and the layered front echoes the ruffle trend that is so popular right now.
The style of dress will hide a multitude of sins which is handy over the festive season!
For a chic look team with all black accessories – opaques, towering heels and clutch. If you are after a more glamorous look then add some sparkles in the form of crystal chandelier earrings or a cocktail ring and embellished clutch.
You can pick your MINT jodi arnold Rose mini dress up from Net-a-porter for £425.

This MINT jodi arnold Ruffle mini dress is a great buy for so many different trends.
Team with thick tights, boots and a chunky knit (keeping the colour palette restrained to oatmeal, sage and other heritage type shades) and your looks will say ‘heritage’.
Alternatively opt for moody midnight shades for tights, killer heeled boots and military style coat to rev up the gothic chic look.
This flirty frock could also be given edge with a cropped leather bomber and pointed shoes for a punk feel.
I love that the lace, ruffles and ribbon give this dress a Victoriana feel, yet the overall design is contemporary making this shift dress a fresh twist on an old style.
You can pick this dress up for £360 from Net-a-porter.

Sequins are obviously very popular right now and what better way add a little glamour to your repertoire than with a sequin bomber? They seem to be everywhere at the moment and these are my top picks for both Designer and Highstreet options.
The Designer offering is a Marc by Marc Jacobs Etta sequin cardigan and features an exposed zip and demi-sheer material and three quarter length sleeves. You can pick it up over at Net-a-porter for £415.
The Highstreet alternative is a great little number from Primark. For just £15 this provides a funnel neck, exposed zip, sequin hem and short sleeves.
The sequin bomber is very cute and great for slinging over a party frock or for just wearing for drinks over a vintage graphic tee, skinnies and killer heels to bring a little sparkle to an edgy look.
