T-Bags Asymmetric Gown

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

T-Bags Asymmetric Silk Jersey GownI love this petrol blue T-Bags Asymmetric silk jersey gown. Originally a design house for bags only, they expanded into clothing soon after, and I’m glad they did! I love their kaftans for which they are well known, and really pleased to see they are doing such elegant eveningwear too.

This floor sweeper would look great teamed with sky scrapper heels to accentuate the already leggy look of this dress. Made from silk jersey, this dress simply slips on so there’s no messing with zips and is set to be really comfortable which can’t always be said for such elegant looking evening wear!

At just £195.00 I think this is a great bargain, especially as the casual jersey material could be dressed up or down, making this a dress a staple item trough summer to winter. Get yours from Net-a-porter.

Designer v Highstreet: The Horizontal Stripe Dress

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Horizontal Stripe DressesThe shops seem to be full of these horizontal striped dresses at the moment, and if you can work a horizontal stripe then this could be a very chic pic for you.

I love the 3.1 Philip Lim number featuring lace fabric and a swirly lace neckline. Team this with understated navy accessories for a streamline look. On the other side of the spectrum this Ted baker dress is less than half the price and again effortlessly chic.

Again featuring silk material and a round neckline this is a really cute easy to wear option. The dropped waist gives it a very relaxed feel and the short hem line keeps it edgey.

For the Designer option you can hop over to Net-a-porter and pick up the 3.1 Phillip Lim Lace top dress for £445. If you’re after the Ted Baker alternative, you can pick it up over at ASOS for £120.

The Next Instalment of Kate Moss Mania

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Kate Moss Christmas CollectionKate’s Christmas collection hits Topshop’s shop floor on Tuesday October 28th (when you can also pick the items up online on Topshop.com). The collection is full of great party pieces featuring sequins to sweeping floor length dresses.

These are three of Kate’s top pics from the collection. One of her other favourites is a dress with a print of a leopard across the neckline which she has lifted from a tee she used to wear as a teenager and has revamped into a mini dress. Another of her favourites are some large pocketed floral grey wide leg trousers.

All these items are set to be snapped up so if you’re a fan of Kate you may want to keep Tuesday in mind!

Snowflake Party Frock

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Rachel Gilbert Sienna Fringed DressMake like a snowflake at your Christmas party and don this ever-so-cute fringed dress by Rachel Gilbert. This is one of Net-a-porter’s favourite dresses for the dance floor and I can see why.

Fringing of course is very popular right now and looks great on evening wear. I think the rhinestone snowflake detailing around the neck is really cute and festive and takes a fringed dress to super sparkly new heights.

Team with reflective gold heels for serious party appeal or keep it understated with a black clutch and shoes.

Get your Rachel Gilbert Sienna fringed dress for £410 from Net-a-porter.

Great Transitional Piece

See by Chloe 3 Tone DressI love this Tri-colour shift from See by Chloe. It’s a perfect transitional piece to take you from Autumn to Winter. Teamed with opaques, shoe boots and a warm coat this is a great number for dinner or drinks.

This dress also echoes several of the key trends righ6t now; from it’s 3 horizontal colour hues, to the folk feel to the embroidered collar as well as the sludgy grunge type colour palette.

Rev up the folk feel by teaming with a long pendant or fringed bag, or keep it chic and simple with clean cut accessories.

Perfect Party Dress

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Preen Drape DressThe shops are full of it, the adverts are already on TV, and despite the fact we haven’t even had Halloween yet, Christmas is already clawing it’s way in. The plus side is though that now is a perfectly acceptable time to start hunting down the perfect Christmas party dress.

This Preen Drape dress is sure to turn heads. The timeless design and update of the little black dress - now the little gray dress - will mean you can pull it out of the wardrobe again and again. Keep it on trend this season by teaming it with a blazer or tux jacket, and next season, who knows! A good pair of heels will always work well with this dress though.

The wrap detail on the waist will cover all multitude of Christmas sins, and means you don’t need a belt to create a nice silhouette.

It costs £545 and is available now from Net A Porter.

Red Hot

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

philip-lim-dress.jpgThe winter is here and the winter woollies are coming out from wardrobes across the country. So if you’re feeling a bit blue at the thought of dull, dark clothes for those long cold months, I have the perfect cure – bright red! Bright red (or tomato red) is the colour this season and numerous little red dresses were showcased on the Autumn Winter 2008 catwalks.

Even Daisy and Lizzy have been spotted donning those LRDs. It’s a vibrant colour which is extremely flattering and will cheer up your winter wardrobe - and this amazing embellished dress from Philip Lim encompasses everything you want in a red dress this season. Team with tights and black killer heels for a sophisticated look which will be perfect for Christmas. Or for a more casual look add a cardigan a skinny jeans.

This 3.1 Phillip Lim Crystal embellished dress is £445 and available at Net-a-porter.

ASOS Sale!

Friday, October 17th, 2008

ASOS Check Bow Front Shirt DressThere seems to be a sale every other week at the moment… pre-season, mid-season, end-of-season… I’m not complaining though, sales are certainly kind to the pocket! This week it’s ASOS’s turn, they’ve just launched their mid-season sale and there are some definite bargains to be had.

Even better, most of the items in the sale will see you through the rest of the season, we’re not talking the dregs of the summer trends here, there’s some great on-trend pieces to snap up!

This Check Bow Shirt Dress is a definite must have, with two of this seasons key trends - bows and check print - in a lovely warm dress that’s perfect for winter. Wear it with leggings and boots for a casual feel, or dress it up with a waisted belt, black opaque tights and some patent shoes. And at £18, reduced from £32, it’s an absolute steal.

Head over to ASOS to snap up some more bargains before they all disappear.

Designer V Highstreet: The Bandage Dress

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Bandage DressesI am a big fan of the Herve dress, but if the £800+ price tag is a little out of reach, there are some fairly good imitations on the market. Take this Herve-a-like by Lipsy. This one shoulder bandage mini dress couldn’t really be mistaken for a Herve, but at first glance it’s a pretty close match and if you love the bandage dress but not the price tag, it’s the next best thing.

This dress also features some sophisticated detailing on the back – the single shoulder strap doubles into two asymmetric back straps, which look pretty effective and just like a Herve it features all over horizontal stripes. What’s more it’s just £55 from ASOS.

The real Herve is of course gorgeous; sleeveless, with a deep V neck and the popular body-con silhouette it’s stunning. You can pick up this particular style for £828 from Matches.

Origami Tank Dress

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Fendi Origami Tank DressI love this navy origami tank dress by Fendi. Effortlessly chic, this dress simply pulls on and the round neck and A-line shape creates a very relaxed and understated feel, whilst the ruffles create all the drama. I love the ruffle style three dimensional origami detailing and the overall shape of the dress.

Made from 100 % silk the movement to the dress is bound to be divine and how many stunning evening dresses could be so comfortable to wear?

Team with simple accessories such as an oversized cocktail ring, plain oblong clutch and sky scraper heals so as not to interfere with the impact of the dress. If you like what you see and can afford the £1030 price tag, you can get this Fendi Origami tank dress from Net-a-porter.
