The Best Ball Gown

Monday, July 28th, 2008

vera-wang-silk-taffetta-dress.jpgAgain I am always a little early at planning the winter wardrobe but I insist on writing a piece on this dress because it is such a wondeful ball gown for the Christmas party season.

As seen on the runway this fall the Vera Wang Silk taffeta dress combines an asymmetrical neckline and full skirt to create a perfectly fitted and flattering gown. The added extra of a self tie bow provides a luxurious finish and splendid finish.

Ideal for any winter ball, if you can afford the dress invest in it at Net a Porter costing £1,275.

The 'Two in One!'

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

Fendi Two in OneThe ‘two in one’ is the top buy for autumn; it’s a fantastic piece that gives the illusion of some stylish layering when really you have done nothing! Perfect for those that never really got the hang of the layering thing and for those city girls that don’t have time to faff around in the morning!

A great example of the ‘two in one’ is this Fendi Fendi Ruffle trim dress from net a porter. The heavy knit sweater works so well with the delicate ruffle trim slips, the ruffles immediately update the sweater and add texture. Wear with thick woolly tights and boots and you’re good to go!

Buy today for £1,140.

camilla-purple.jpgAs I mentioned previously I was ecstatic to find a new brand to get excited about and that brand was Camilla and Marc. Well much to my delight I have found another dress and this time it’s in my favourite strapless style.

The strapless dress in question is similar to the summer season’s dresses but has been revamped with a cobalt winter colour and a punky edge. The silk dupion mini dress has an organza bubble skirt, a fitted bust and is available at Net A Porter exclusively. Match with some black tights as pictured here or perhaps try some fishnets or leggings, either way it provides a super chic winter look.

Parachute Dress!

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Parachute Dress by All SaintsThis has to be one of the most exciting new autumn/winter pieces I have seen from the highstreet so far! There are no prizes for guessing the creator as it is not brain science to realise that only All Saints has the guts and the talent to bring such a unique piece to the highstreet.

It has been named the parachute dress for obvious reasons; it was clearly inspired by a parachute due to the vast amount of fabric used and the freeness of the shape. Who’d of thought a parachute could look so great on, certainly not me! It’s another unusual but fantastic idea from All saints. Visit their website today and pre order the dress to avoid disappointment as it is sure to be a sell out! This dress costs £325, however there is a shorter version that is slightly cheaper! Happy shopping!
