The statement coat is a great investment piece this season and hitting several key trends together in one feel swoop, this beautiful embellished wool boucle coat is stunning. Features include bracelet sleeves, side pleating, chains and appliqué embellishments – which together manage to cover the military, grunge lux and ruffle trends seamlessly.
I think one of the best A/W wardrobe essentials is a fabulous coat – one that nods to the latest trends, fits perfectly and you can throw over anything and instantly look polished, stylish and well pulled together. After all, your coat is the one thing you are seen in almost everyday by colleagues, family and friends and it hides all of the effort you’ve put together underneath, so it needs to be a showstopper or a great supporting role at least.
This season it’s all about drama and statement pieces – this coat by Moschino is perfect. Get yours from Net-a-porter for £1540.00

I love the combination of these two garments together; they make a great casual outfit with a cool sporty edge! The jacket is a Rick Owens creation; it is a patchwork jacket featuring panels of contrasting fabrics such as metallic, denim and fur trims. The detailing on this piece is amazing, there is so much work involved; I particularly like the knot detail at the front of the jacket. This jacket costs £1,780.00!
To compliment the jacket I have chosen an effortlessly chic skirt by Maison Martin Margiela, you may recognise the zip design from the must have leather leggings that are causing a stir amongst fashion followers around the globe! This skirt costs £300, it is a great staple piece; it can be dressed down for day wear with thick black tights and boots, then for night time it can be worn with bare legs and some towering heels!
You can buy these items from Browns fashion online.

Now this is the statement leather of the season! It is just stunning! The asymmetric front and waterfall ruffle detail is a key feature of the jacket, making it perfectly in keeping with fall’s gothic trend.
Leather jackets always tend to take on a hard edgy biker look but this jacket is different; the ruffles portray a very feminine gothic feel, which I find really unique adding to its appeal!
Every detail on this jacket has been carefully considered, take for example the pleated sleeves and shoulder yoke detail, this is one luxurious leather! Every feature shows that this jacket has been designed and made with love. A fine example of Karen Millen’s exquisite leather work.

How cute is this Bustle back trench coat!! I instantly fell in love with it as I was browsing ASOS for a trendy new jacket and I think I have found what I was looking for! Great!
For £60 this is an absolute bargain and it is one of those garments you will get so much wear out of, especially in this country when it is hot one minute and cold the next, the last thing you want to do is go out in a thick woolly coat when the sun is blistering down on you! This jacket is nice and lightweight but is still substantial enough to take the chill of those wintery days!

It is now time to start thinking about what coat is going to see you through the winter!
Every winter we see a new look for coats and this season it is all about military inspired outerwear!
Military coats and jackets are huge this winter; to ensure that this trend is accessible to all I feel it is only right to give you the choice of designer and highstreet alternatives. I have carefully hand picked two of the must have military coats this season from Stella Mc Cartney and Karen Millen.
The first on the left is my highstreet choice; this is a beautiful wool cotton twill military coat by Karen Millen. The metal dome buttons look fab against the stone fabric! This is a gorgeous fitted jacket that can be worn for all occasions.
Buy from Karen Millen online for £250.
My designer choice is this gorgeous Stella McCartney Felt military coat; this coat is slightly darker, which is probably more practical for winter, the gold statement buttons and bow belt complete the look perfectly! Buy yours from net a porter for £1,175.

I was really excited to see what new label, Elizabeth and James would come up with, (this label is by the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who act as both muses and co-designers) and I’ve not been disappointed. This season blazers are set to be very popular and I just love the style of blazer they have come up with here.
The half sleeves are perfect for helping to create a feminine silhouette whilst rocking a masculine look. The tapered side panels and one button fastening makes it easier to throw over a belt to cinch it all in too. What’s more this is just the sort of thing you see Ashley wearing so she provides loads of inspiration as to how to make the look work.
Elizabeth and James are available from Net-a-porter, where you can pick up this Elizabeth and James James blazer up for £295.

Tassels! I can’t get enough of them! I know they’re only going to be a five minute trend but I just can’t help myself!
The latest tasselled piece to enter my ‘must-have’ list is this fringed tasselled gilet! Isn’t it fab! This will make any outfit! Wear it with a bin liner you will still look ridiculously chic!
It is of course real leather so unfortunately it comes at a price; £250! This is slightly over what I wanted to spend but it is a very versatile piece; it can be worn in the day with skinny jeans and a simple rock chic T, or wear it in the evening to transform your LBD and look seriously on trend!
Check out All Saints for more info.

Boyish tailoring is very chic this autumn! It’s a completely new look that I am ready to embrace! The first thing to invest in is a blazer! I think elongated blazers can look so stylish when worn in the evening over a cute mini dress! It portrays that not ‘trying to hard’ look that is really sexy!
This Elizabeth and James James blazer is perfect!! The cropped sleeves create a more feminine feel showing off the bottom of the arm, great for accessorizing with a simple cuff!
This item is so versatile; it can be worn in the day through to the evening! In fact you may never want to take it off!

I absolutely love this tweed vest-come-waistcoat by Smythe. With the weather getting nippier the need to chuck on an extra layer to keep out the cold is becoming ever more pressing and this is a must have item to keep cosy!
Perfect for throwing over the humble turtleneck (which is making a come back for both the ladies and the gents this season) this can be cinched in with a belt, combined with skinnies for a city twist on a country look, or just make like country folk and go full whack by adding a flat cap and riding boots.
The tweed and gillet style shape make this a quintessential autumn item for me, and perfect for the heritage chic and folk looks too.
Get your Smythe Herringbone leisure vest from Net-a-porter for £310.
