Roland Mouret’s new collection has gone monochrome and tuxedo crazy and it’s fabulous. Although the fashion trends have been around before they have been revitalised by Roland Mouret for RM.

The RM Orion, black and white bouclé, Pierrot coat is both unique and luxurious, hangs loosely and costs £1640. The RM Naiad dress is sleek and seductive. The silk dress, is also unique, with a tuxedo style collar and a higher underskirt, and costs £1545. Perfect for the party season and to become that little black dress. The RM Moon dress in Dove gray is also sleek but a little more conservative than the previous black dress, ideal for either day and night, office or party, costing £990.

I have just been browsing River Island’s website and had to show you this screen shot from their ‘Get the Look’ section. They have called it Glam Chick and this is so the look I have been waiting for! The gorgeous leopard print faux jacket (£64.99) is stunning and goes really well with dark skinny jeans (£36.99) as shown in the image.

Also loving the patent peep toes (£54.99), such a great style for the season and this pair has that little bit extra with gold studs at the front.

Winter is undoubtedly the season to look uber-stylish, chic, totally smart and super warm. I always find that I never have a smart coat to make it through the blistering cold season with me. So I’ve been looking for a preferably wool mix, long, black and most important of all smart and warm winter coat.

Ted Baker has a lovely military style, wool mix, funnel neck coat called Olli costing £230. The fitted, trendy coat is perfect to finish off an outfit for a lunch or dinner date, hard days shopping or unfortunately for most, a hard days work. Unfortunately in England the weather just can’t decide what to do, but lets face it, winter is well and truly on its way and we will certainly be needing a nice warm winter coat. This cream waffel weave coat is gorgeous. Plum and cream are going to be hot colours this season so make sure you stock up on the essentials.

This coat has a military style look to it, with its high neck and low waist and the button detail at the front. It has a hidden zip fastening at the front and two pockets. It comes in cream, black and red and is available in sizes 10-14. It is from Boohoo.com, so you know you’re not going to be breaking your budget, costing just £40.

This season has seen a recurring trend called the poncho and the cape. Perfect for winter and for those of you that got on board with the trend the last time. I’m not sure which is better, but they can both look sleek and stylish.

Personally I love this Tomas Maier, mist coloured, cashmere poncho. At the moment it is discounted by 40% from £575 to £345 so if you fancy a splurge this poncho is perfect, with or without a belt. I think it should be given some glamour with some jeans and heels. Or this funnel neck cape in chocolate colour from Topshop is just as chic but is a lot cheaper at just £75.

In this weeks edition of Take 5’s magazine the centre page had been dedicated to The Top 20 High Street Buys and Chic Bargains and this mustard bow neck coat is number one. With its high neck and oversized bow it really gives it that chic 1940’s look.

It is a felt jacket with ballooned sleeves and is a loose fit. It is made from wool, nylon and cashmere and the colour is described as olive. Inspired by the 40’s era it’s not something I would hit the high street for, but it certainly would inject a bit of colour into everyone’s wardrobe. Available from French Connection and costs £140. I personally think it is horrible, I’m not sure if it is just the colour that puts me off but I wont be purchasing one. Maybe it’s a bit like marmite, if you like it you can get one online here.

Another style that is going to be big news this season is the wet look, and what better way to embrace the trend than go all out with this blood red mac. Why not take full advantage? What a gorgeous rain coat? I love it! It has three quarter length sleeves, not too practical for the rain but who’s to say you have to just wear it in the rain.

It has a patent look and is fully lined. The buckle belt around the waist gives you a great waistline and emphasizes all the right curves. I know it’s only a coat but you still want to be able to see that you have a figure! You don’t want to be walking round looking as though you have put a bin bag on. Who says you can’t look good in the rain. Available from Topshop for £80.

Wearing the wrong jacket or coat can be a disaster for you autumn/winter wardrobe, so check out this flattering, military style coat. Wearing military clothes and accessories has already been a hit this season so with this gorgeous herringbone weave coat you can’t go wrong.
