Sleeveless Tailoring!

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Zara Sleeveless BlazerThe sleeveless Blazer is a hot new look for spring, so ditch those old rigid blazers for a new sleeveless style tailoring!

Zara have hit the nail on the head with this fantastic linen blazer for spring! Without a sleeve in sight, this blazer is great for maintaining a sophisticated look but in a less formal and a more trendy way.

I love this whole outfit; it is a fresh new approach to tailoring that makes it accessible to more women and shows it is something you can experiment with and enjoy wearing rather than it being just a dull work item.

Well I’m definitely sold on this sleevless tailoring and this blazer will certainly be entering my summer wardrobe this year! Check out the rest of Zara’s collection online!

Leather Lovely!

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

All Saints Leather JacketI’m officially in love with this leather jacket from All saints! I don’t need another leather jacket but after seeing this one I just can’t resist! Its such a simple design but little details like the tie front and the ribbed inner cuff just make it all the more special.

These extra little details are what you pay for and help to make All saints the best highstreet store ever!! Another added detail that wooed me is the rouched collar; genius! It gives such a subtle feel to the typical rock chick leather jacket; the style of the jacket is almost like a cardigan but is made out of leather instead of cotton!

The cost of this jacket is £275 so if you can afford it I strongly recommend you treat yourself as it is lush!

The Trench Coat

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

k-karl-lagerfield-morland-asymmetric-trench.jpgSome of the most fashion forward magazines have brought a key and worth investing in piece to my attention this month and that key piece is the trench coat. It’s ideal for the weather we hope to expect over the next month or so which would hopefully be patchy sunshine with low and refreshing winds not the gale forces we feel now.

Wishful thinking but if we were so lucky this K Karl Lagerfeld Morland asymmetric trench is perfect. The white cotton trench with quilted side panels is flattering, contemporary, cool and versatile enough to be worn with anything. What else would we expect from the amazingly talented Karl Lagerfeld behind Chanel.

The trench is available at Net A Porter costing £490.

Mcvie JacketI’ve officially found my perfect jacket; The ‘Mcvie’ from Allsaints. This fantastic jacket is just perfect for the much awaited transition from winter to spring!

When you’ve just about had enough of those dreary woolly coats you’ve been wearing all season, this jacket its just what you need to give you a refreshing new look for the spring!

All Saints is never one to shy away from detail and that’s why I love this jacket, fantastic detailing on the sleeves and collar give you versatility and style! The colour is perfect for this jacket; a classic natural enhances the important detailing and will go with everything! For £140, I best start saving!

To admire the jacket more closely, check out Allsaints online for front, side and back views!

Cool Tie Dye!

Friday, January 11th, 2008

River Island Tie Dye BomberTie dye is definitely a hot new trend for spring, we’ve seen it on the catwalks and now our favourite high street stores are embracing the look! Fantastic collections all celebrating the striking tie dye effect are hard to ignore!

River Island is the latest store to catch onto the trend with this fantastic tie dye bomber jacket! I was immediately drawn to the colours of this jacket; from light turquoise to deep midnight blue this jacket is sure to compliment any pair of denim jeans! Bomber jackets are also a key look for the spring, perfect for taking us from the cold winter through to a milder spring. However don’t rush, it’s still freezing outside and buying prematurely may result in you missing on some other great spring buys!

If you just can’t help yourself this jacket can be purchased from River Island online for £44.99!

Designer V Highstreet: Red Winter Coats

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Jasper Conran CoatRed coats are extremely popular this winter, it seems every high street store is well stocked up with fiery designs and the public have gone mad for them. I myself purchased this Jasper Conran coat at Debenhams and was amazed at the price (reduced from £100 to £70).

This image from the Debenhams website does not do the coat justice, it looks much better on and really nips in your waist giving the illusion that you are at least one dress size smaller!! It comfortable, warm and flairs out slightly at the waistline – its a real princess coat and I love it!

Mint Jodie Arnold Twill CoatIf you’re more into your designer labels then this MINT Jodi Arnold Wool Twill Coat may be more up your street, its flattering a-line style will also take inches off your waist and and the ¾ length sleeves will give your arms a dainty appearance.

At £510 it well over 5 times the amount of the Jasper Conran Coat but it is beautiful and is a great style for this winter.

Team the coats with a black bag and black peeps and you’re ready to rock and roll.

The Clothes Show Live: Vibrant Colours

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Lots of the designs at the Clothes Show were extremely vibrant ready for the summer months, yellow and pink were both prominent colours in the main catwalk event and we also saw hints of what we will all be wearing later in 2008 (I will show you later!). Below are a few of the pink and yellow styles, both teamed with black so great for the evening or if it is a bit chillier.

Pink and Black Designs

The pink coat and pink skirt show how you can break up a plain black look and add that little bit of colour to give your outfit an exciting feel, the yellow is used in the same way. These vibrant colours are likely to be popular through the rest of winter and into spring.

Yellow and Black Designs

Net-a-porter show how its done with this gorgeous Milly Textured wool coat, they have also teamed with black to accentuate the beautiful yellow shade. At £530 its not the cheapest coat on the market but its sure one I’d love to wear! The double-breasted detail and textured wool material work well together and I adore the gold button fastenings and princess collar.
