Simple Jumpsuit

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

ASOS Bandeau Jersey JumpsuitIf you want to try the current jumpsuit trend, but don’t want to spend a fortune taking the plunge, or aren’t quite convinced by the fluorescent colours they seem to come in, then look no further than ASOS.

This Bandeau Jersey Jumpsuit is in classic black, sleeveless, has cropped trousers that will sit just below the knee, and is made of a stretchy, soft material that’ll grip where it’s suppose to and hang loosely where it isn’t. You can wear it almost any way imaginable – pop a waisted belt on to create a smart silhouette, wear a coloured t-shirt under it for a casual day look, or simply team it with heels for a night out.

Cost wise, it comes in at a budget-friendly £21, so if you’ve been debating with going for a jumpsuit, this is definitely a perfect opportunity. It’s available from ASOS now.

Summer Staple Denim

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Sass & Bide Neon Nights Denim JeansIf you want to crack one key trend this summer, then one item you won’t want to be without is a pair of bleached skinnies. In my quest to find the perfect pair I think I have stumbled upon the best around.

Reminiscent of Balmain’s £1k+ stunners, these light blue bleached skinnies by Sass and Bide are seriously good looking and for £185 are much more manageable in the money department.

Team with pretty much anything from boyfriend blazers to sequins.

For catwalk inspiration check out the spring / summer shows for Diesel Black Gold, Balmain and Givenchy.

You can pick yourself up a pair over at Net-a-porter.

Snakeskin Gladiator

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Topshop Pegasus GladiatorThe footwear staple for this season has to be some sort of gladiator… flat, stacked or otherwise it doesn’t matter, but judging by Louis Vuitton’s popular feathered, tasselled and snakeskined Spicy heels (which everyone from Heidi Klum to Victoria Beckham have been rocking recently) the key to for them to be overly adorned and have an air of exoticism about them.

This pair is a pretty good high street alternative, and features lots of fussy details from snakeskin to leather strapping and buckles and at £100 they are a snip of the designer versions.

They come in tan only and are available from Topshop for £100.

Pretty Party Frock

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Camilla and Marc Floral DressAs we know anything floral is in this summer and I particularly like the abstract nature of the floral blooms on this Camilla and Marc dress by way of using silk appliqué embellishments.

They set of the swooshy draped hemline and trapeze shape perfectly, giving the dress a 3D element and lots of movement. I also really like the modern feel of the colour palette, and would team this dress as Net-a-porter suggests; with matching buttercup colour peep toes and a soft hued metallic clutch.

Perfect for an easy to wear, on-trend party look or wedding outfit you can pick this up for £425 from Net-a-porter.

Great Little Top

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Elizabeth and James TankAnother delivery of gorgeous garments by Elizabeth and James has just arrived over at My Wardrobe and their latest collection is just as fabulous as always.

I particularly like this grey draped top, featuring a low open back and open sides, it has hidden support so it can be worn without a bra to show off the cross over elastic back straps.

I love tops like this, that without being too much, are showstoppers on their own so are easy to throw on in a hurry – no fussing or accessorising required!

It comes in black or grey and costs £154 from My Wardrobe.

Reiss Spring / Summer Collection

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Reiss LookbookI’ve always been a major fan of Reiss, and their spring / summer collection is as usual, in my opinion absolutely gorgeous. Take a look at their latest Lookbook here – page after page I’m hooked.

This is my favourite high street collection so far this season and it is dominated by the soft shades of nudes along with shots of gold, coral and cornflower blue.

Featuring soft tailoring, Herve Ledger style bandage skirts, ruffles and soft and sumptuous knits it is perfect for the career girl or sophisticated dresser and so many of the outfits are interchangeable and perfect for mixing up.

Check out their latest arrivals here.

Balmain's Leather Jacket

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Balmain Military Leather JacketBalmain has quickly turned into one of the hottest labels right now, and no wardrobe is truly complete without their leather military jacket.

Perfect for toughening up pretty summer frocks and chucked over skinnies and graphic tees it can do no wrong in my eyes!

The accentuated shoulder this item features, is a key trend this season and screams attitute, giving a very strong look to whatever you pair it with.

With £4050 price tag it’s an investment piece, check it out over at Net-a-porter.

Simple Summer Shift

Friday, March 27th, 2009

Insight Panda Print Button Down DressI love this button down dress by Insight ( a cool little label headed up by Natalie Wood). I like the way the sweetheart neckline gives the dress some structure as well as a discretely sexy feel, yet the loose shift shape tones this down and makes it a really nice laid back piece for lazy summer days.

The print is not far off the colourful abstract prints seen on Alexander McQueen’s S/S 09 catwalk, and it has the digitally enhanced feel as well as pockets – all of which are also popular details this season.

Team with flat gladiators and a cropped blazer for an effortlessly cool look.

You can pick this dress up from Urban Outfitters for £55.

Embellished Blouse

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Matthew Williamson Tulle TankI am a big fan of Matthew Williamson and think this embellished tulle tank top may be the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen! Featuring all things girly from bead embellishment to sparkles and tulle, this is a great party top.

Trend-ticking, it features lots of popular details this season – from it’s transparency to floral references.

Wear tucked in to a pencil skirt for a restrained glamour type feel or as Net-a-porter suggest; wear to soften tailored pieces.

Perfect for summer parties and weddings, it’s a great statement piece which will look gorgeous with anything from beaten up stonewash skinnies to a floaty skirt and heels.

You can get your hands on this piece over at Net-a-porter for £635.
