The One Stop Top

See by Chloé Ruffled Silk BlouseNever underestimate the power of a good jeans and top combo, whether it’s meeting friends for coffee, an impromptu trip to the pub, or just running errands, a smart, flattering top can instantly smarten up those jeans.

This Ruffled Silk Blouse from See by Chloé is perfect. The silk is great for a casual but smart look, and it can be worn tucked on or loose. The bright pink colour is perfect for this season’s jewel colour trend, and will see you through to next spring as well and would be offset perfectly by black skinny jeans. The ruffle detailing and peter pan collar gives it a sophisticated feel, and no need to worry about buttoning it up – there’s a fastening and the neck so it just slips on over your head of a quick change!

You can pick up the Ruffled Silk Blouse for £190 from Net A Porter now.

The Nico Dress

Alexander McQueen DressI love this new hologram belt sweater dress by Alexander McQueen. Like something straight out of Nico Riley’s wardrobe (Lipstick Jungle) it’s chic and elegant and some how carries off looking incredibly cosy yet in the same swing it looks utterly chic and professional.

Made 100% of cashmere and costing £896 this is an indulgence but one that will last a lifetime if cared for. The cowl neckline is a classic design statement and the belt can always be swapped for another to bring new life and an alternative look to the same piece over years.

Available from Net-a-porter all you need do is throw on an oversized cocktail ring and towering heels and the look is complete!

Heritage Style Cardy

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Vera Wang CardyI love this exposed seam cardigan by Vera Wang – bang on trend this is a great piece to build a heritage chic type look as well as a great wardrobe staple suitable for work and play.

I particularly like the subtle detailing that has gone into this piece – the drop cuffs and exposed seams bring a bit of edge to a classic style yet the sludgy brown colour palette keep the heritage feel in place.

Wear over a low hem skirt for work or just team with weekend jeans for play, just be sure to keep it buttoned up for maximum impact.

100% wool this will keep out the chill and go over most outfits, it costs £582.34 and can be picked up from Net-a-porter.

Unusual Party Dress

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Laura Lees Prom DressWhilst checking out the latest arrivals over at ASOS earlier, I cam e across this rather unusual prom dress by Laura Lees.

Featuring an exposed zip, high contrast neck and gold peter pan style collar, this is the most unique prom dress I have come across among all the jewel satin dresses, little black dresses and other same mainstream offerings about.

I’m not sure I love it, but I do adore the upper half of the dress with the sweetheart neckline and high waist. The embroidery I’m not really a fan of, but the overall idea is an interesting one. Definitely a label to keep your eye on if you hanker after the more unusual!

You can pick this up for £205.54.

Great Basic Jumper

Sunday, December 7th, 2008

Batwing SweaterI love discovering great every day jumpers which are perfect for throwing on this chilly time of year, and this batwing sweater from Urban Outfitters is just that.

Great for throwing over skinny jeans and a tee, just add heels and weekend hair for a laid back look.

I love this deep red colour, but it also comes in deep green and light grey which are all just as nice.

The rib knit sleeves are great for keeping warm and the slash neck style gives this jumper and elegant chic feel.

You can pick one up from Urban Outfitters for £35.

Burberry Oversized Glass Ring

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Burberry RingOversized cocktail rings are all the rage right now, and are a great way of updating your look and would also make a great Christmas gift for a lucky friend or other half.

Another key look is chunky cut glass accessories and this ring by Burberry encapsulates both trends perfectly. The gunmetal colour ring features a large dark crimson square glass gem stone and it’s ultra modern angular shape makes this a great buy.

Wear with your little black dress, shift dress for work or all manner of outfits.

At £147 it’s not a bad price for such an impressive label, pick one up from Net-a-porter today!

Topshop Ski Wear

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Topshop Sno WearAnyone planning a ski-trip in the near future can pick up some really gorgeous snow wear from Topshop. They’ve got some great basics such as thermal vests and leggings, salopettes, hats and socks.

My favourites include these jacquard ski socks in cream, which for £6 are a real bargain. They’d be great for just regular winter days, tucking into boots over your jeans for country walks.

Next, I love these £15 raspberry colour long-john style thermal leggings. The button detailing, ribbed material and purple stitching make them really cute and good enough for wearing round the house with a vest and oversized cardy over the chrimbo holidays.

I also really like this silver ski puffa jacket which is £100 and features a funnel neck, hood, fleece lining and easy grab zip puller.

Check out the collection online or in store!

Great Wardrobe Staple

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Pin Tuck BlouseI love this silk lace pin tuck blouse from Urban Outfitters. The lace detailing and overall loose shape gives it a ‘flapper’ type feel, which is really popular right now and which gives this piece an air of timeless chic.

For just £19.99 (marked down from £32.00) you can pick up this great bargain which you can get so much wear out of, especially this time of year when there’s lots of socialising to be had.

A great little top for layering up for a grunge lux look by day or simply wearing alone for nights out, team with super skinnies and towering heels.

Pick yours up from Urban Outfitters today!
