The Snowjogger just so happens to fit the bill!

The Clothes Show Live: Crazy Colours

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Heres what you can expect to be wearing during the warmer months of 2008 – exciting hey!! I love the mixture of crazy colours and the daring patterns of spots and stripes, it looks like the bolder the better, see what you can get away with. Mix greens with yellows and oranges, blues with reds and yellow, anything goes!

Crazy Catwalk Colours

It looks like socks will be a big part of the outfit too, I personally love the stripy knee-highs but am not to keen on the colorful ankle socks, what do you think? All I can say is I’m looking forward to summer. More pics…

Designer V Highstreet: Red Winter Coats

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Jasper Conran CoatRed coats are extremely popular this winter, it seems every high street store is well stocked up with fiery designs and the public have gone mad for them. I myself purchased this Jasper Conran coat at Debenhams and was amazed at the price (reduced from £100 to £70).

This image from the Debenhams website does not do the coat justice, it looks much better on and really nips in your waist giving the illusion that you are at least one dress size smaller!! It comfortable, warm and flairs out slightly at the waistline – its a real princess coat and I love it!

Mint Jodie Arnold Twill CoatIf you’re more into your designer labels then this MINT Jodi Arnold Wool Twill Coat may be more up your street, its flattering a-line style will also take inches off your waist and and the ¾ length sleeves will give your arms a dainty appearance.

At £510 it well over 5 times the amount of the Jasper Conran Coat but it is beautiful and is a great style for this winter.

Team the coats with a black bag and black peeps and you’re ready to rock and roll.

The Clothes Show Live: Vibrant Colours

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Lots of the designs at the Clothes Show were extremely vibrant ready for the summer months, yellow and pink were both prominent colours in the main catwalk event and we also saw hints of what we will all be wearing later in 2008 (I will show you later!). Below are a few of the pink and yellow styles, both teamed with black so great for the evening or if it is a bit chillier.

Pink and Black Designs

The pink coat and pink skirt show how you can break up a plain black look and add that little bit of colour to give your outfit an exciting feel, the yellow is used in the same way. These vibrant colours are likely to be popular through the rest of winter and into spring.

Yellow and Black Designs

Net-a-porter show how its done with this gorgeous Milly Textured wool coat, they have also teamed with black to accentuate the beautiful yellow shade. At £530 its not the cheapest coat on the market but its sure one I’d love to wear! The double-breasted detail and textured wool material work well together and I adore the gold button fastenings and princess collar.

The Clothes Show Live: Saucy Swimsuits

Monday, December 17th, 2007

If you’re jetting off somewhere nice and warm over Christmas then a cut-out swimsuit is the way to go. These catwalk beauties show us how to pull off the cut-out style and prove that accessories such as bags and shades make the style rock.

Swimsuits

I have been hunting around the net for some similar styles to buy on line and I have found some great ideas, the first is a Melissa Odabash Jessica bandeau swimsuit from Net-a-porter, it will set you back £135 but is stunning especially with the stud detail and backless design. The second is from Figleaves and I think you will agree is almost identical (if not the same item) as the far left swimsuit in the Clothes Show Pictures. It costs £70 and is available on the website. The last swimsuit is also from Figleaves and is my personal favourite – £93 and its yours!

Wild Undies!

Friday, December 14th, 2007

Miss Selfridge UnderwearGet wild in the new Miss Selfridge lingerie collection! Miss Selfridge has taken influence from nature this season with their fun and sexy animal print underwear collection!

Vibrant zebra and leopard print underwear sets are spicing up the Miss Selfridge stores across the country! Both prints are mixed with either pink lace or ribbon trimmings for that extra girly effect.

I think these sets are really good fun and would make perfect Christmas gifts, however if you fancy treating yourself just be careful what you wear them with; a see through white blouse in the office would be a no no!

Bras cost £16 and the bottoms depending on which style you prefer are either £5 or £6, both can be purchased online from Miss Selfridge.

Technology in Fashion: Video dress

Friday, December 14th, 2007

With technology evolving at such fast rates it is hard to keep up with all the latest technological innovations within fashion.

Hussein Chalayan is one designer who isn’t scared to use the latest technology within garment designs, in fact he thrives for new and interesting ways to produce textiles and always amazes the public with his latest projects. To give you an example check out Chalayans video dresses below. Aren’t they amazing! The dresses are made from special chips that can display moving images, in this case a rose opening and dolphins swimming.

If this is the future of fashion it may be that we will begin downloading our favourite patterns to display on our clothes rather than having to buy a completely new garment. Crazy hey?!
