Designer V Highstreet: The Box Clutch!

Sunday, November 11th, 2007

Corto Box ClutchSo it seems the clutch is the only bag we need to see us through the winter! Typically worn for evenings, the clutch first seduced us with its glamorous appearance that made us feel instantly chic!

With the clutch becoming more and more versatile and constantly adapting its shape and size you may be finding it hard to keep up with the latest must-have clutch and how to wear them, this is where I can help! The introduction of the colossal clutch means you can now use your clutch from day to evening, fab for those after work drinks and parties!

In reaction to this super size clutch, we now have the very dainty miniature box clutch; this is strictly for evenings, hence the ridiculously small size!

I personally love this hard box shape clutch and have found two gorgeous mini clutches to show you why!

The first gold metal box clutch has a unique rigid bar handle and would look perfect with a pair of gold killer heels! This Corto Moltedo Susan metal box clutch is available from net a porter for £470.

If you’re on a bit of a budget check out the gorgeous collection of box clutches from Accessorize, this embellished clutch is only £35!

Leopard Print WelliesWellies are back sporting a new funky makeover! For years we have been missing out on these extremely practical boots because quite frankly they were hideous! But now thanks to the new ‘Fashion welly’ we can look cool and save our shoes from getting ruined on those wet and windy days we all just love!

Wellies have taken on a completely new look this season, we can finally say goodbye to the days of green dingy wellies and welcome these fantastic vibrant wellies to brighten up those dull rainy days!

I have two fantastic pairs for you to see; the first leopard print pair is from River Island, these are just so funky for just £19.99, who’d of thought wellies could be so glam!

The second pair is by Marni, I love this pair because they’re so vibrant and purple is definitely the in-colour this a/w. They can be purchased from Browns for a cool £80!

Mc Queen for Puma!

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Mcqueen Puma trainersAn unlikely collaboration; Alexander Mcqueen and sports label Puma have joined forces to produce an exciting new range of sports footwear. The results of combining such an innovative fashion forward mind with a technical sports mind are just endless!

The inspiration for this new range derived from human anatomy with a strong emphasis on the human foot looking at tendon structures, vein formations and toe prints.

The first pair of trainers I have shown you are called ‘London Biker Trainers’ costing £200 but a true masterpiece! Without doubt my favourite pair from the collection, consisting of so much intricate detailing I don’t know where to look first! The soles are probably the coolest part of these trainers, they are extremely unique and I can see how they reflect the inspiration of the vein formations.

This second pair are the boot version, again the attention to detail is outstanding with suede ankle straps and patent piping you won’t fail to turn heads in this sleek footwear range. Costing £300 you can purchase both pairs from Stylefinder.

Roberto Cavalli for H&M

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Roberto Cavalli for H&MSo yesterday saw the grand opening of the new Roberto Cavalli for H&M collection and it went down a strom! Fashion addicts started queueing at 5 am to get their hands on the much anticipated collection and we can see why!

Roberto’s strong signature style that oozes with glamour was what we were all waiting for and did he delivered it! With a strong focus on animal prints from sultry leopard to striking zebra, we can definitely expect to see more than a few sun-kissed goddesses in leopard print dresses at our christmas parties this year!

For this stunning collection Roberto produced 20 pieces for menswear and 25 for womenswear including lingerie and accessories; the jungle theme was carried on through to the jewellery; snake bangles with purple jewelled eyes and shark tooth pendants in glistening gold were the highlight of the accessories. All accessories were reported to have sold out in just one hour!

The most popular dress of the day was a gorgeous gold sequin dress as shown above, this dress was without surprise the first to sell out in Oxford street and I’m very jealous of whoever managed to get their hands on it!

Zac Posen’s Gorgeous Olive Dress

Friday, November 9th, 2007

Zac Posen Nationale DressNet-a-porter has got to be in the top ten best websites for designer clothing. It never fails to impress. As I entered the website this time I was greeted by the most beautiful dress pictured on the catwalk I have seen this season.

Hot off the catwalk, Zac Posen has created this stunning olive coloured, pleated dress. Keeping with the in season trends Posen had incorporated layers, pleats and ruffles into the Nationale Pleated Dress. The hefty price tag of £3,175 does require consideration, but if you can afford it, buy it! It is most certainly worth it and within reason.

Get over to Net-a-porter to get your hands on this fabulous Zac Posen Nationale pleated dress.

Office Rudey 3 Buckle Shoe

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Rudey 3 BuckleI have just found these gorgeous shoes from Office for £60 after seeing a similar pair modelled by Holly Willoughby, I thought they would be perfect for work if you wanted to brighten up your winter wardrobe or perfect for a date. They scream stylish yet retro making any girl feel like Dorothy herself.

Bright colours are a key staple to any fashonista’s wardrobe this season, and if you usually stick to black then bright accessories are a good way to inject some colour, if you don’t fancy them in red and want to get more wear out of them, they do also come in Black.

LA Fashion Week Gets Off to a Flying Start!

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

This poor model at LA Fashion Week falls into a hole that one of the dancers created then displays her knickers to the crowd. I’m not surprised she was too embarrassed to carry on!!

Embrace The Bow

Thursday, November 8th, 2007

Rodnik Moscow DressRetail has gone bow crazy, and for the best it seems. Bows add a cute and girly vibe to a casual or seductive garment.

This Rodnik Moscow, black bow front dress is simple and elegant. With a subtle low neck and hemline just below the knee this dress would be the perfect little black dress for any occasion. At £490 it is a little but of a splurge but at least it will never go out of fashion. Or perhaps something a little more conservative like this Vera Wang Lavender Bow front dress. The midnight blue, fitted dress has a high neck line, also falls just below the knee and costs £365.
